Animal, Vegetable, Mineral, Other: Installation at TuckUnder Projects, 2016

Topics in science, math, and the history of science have informed my work throughout my career. My interest in representations of space in mathematics stems from a set of photographs the artist Man Ray made of plaster models of topological surfaces, mineral specimens and other natural objects for the art journal Cahiers d’Art in the 1930s. Animal, Vegetable, Mineral, Other will be a series of publications — designed to be browsed like newspapers or magazines you would find on your back porch — that incorporate images of objects and specimens we use to study the world: objects that help us think.
